Today is #GivingTuesday! It’s one of the biggest days of giving in the year! We would like to ask you to consider donating to our work today, enabling us to continue protecting the endangered mountain gorillas. Your donation will help us to access the GivingTuesday match funding being offered by Global Giving – the more we raise today, the more match funding we will receive, increasing our impact.

This year, we want to hit our goal of raising $30,000 through the Global Giving Campaign ‘Urgent Need to Curb COVID-19 to people and gorillas’.

So far, we have raised $3,158 towards our goal – and we have already managed to train 59 COVID-19 Village Task Force Committees in 8 parishes where gorillas forage in community land and provided them with essential equipment like surgical masks, hand sanitizers, pulse oximeters and infrared thermometers. Imagine what more we can do if we all join efforts to raise $30,000!

• $10 can buy five reusable face masks or portable hand sanitizers for Village COVID-19 Taskforce Members and Village Health and Conservation Team frontline health workers
• $14 can buy a box of disposable surgical masks, or a box of disposable gloves for each Village COVID-19 Taskforce Committee
• $21 can buy a pulse oximeter for each Village COVID-19 Taskforce committee and Village Health and Conservation Team frontline health worker
• $33 can buy an infrared thermometer for each Village COVID-19 Taskforce Committee and Village Health and Conservation Team frontline health worker
• $60 enables us to conduct one COVID-19 test – CTPH conducts routine testing of people and gorillas
• $200 pays for 1 Village COVID-19 Taskforce committee training workshop to reduce community transmission to Bwindi households through home-based care, testing, contact tracing and vaccination awareness
• $1,000 pays for 5 Village COVID-19 Taskforce committee training workshops to reduce community transmission to Bwindi households
