On June 26th 2018, Conservation Through Public Health (CTPH) in partnership with Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) Uganda and Budongo Forest Conservation Field Station (BCFS) launched the award winning Village Health and Conservation Teams (VHCT) model in communities living around Budongo Forest.

Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka, the first wildlife veterinary officer of the Uganda Wildlife Authority, is among the winners in the 2018 Sierra Club Awards. She worked with the Authority from 1996 to 2000.

Gorilla Conservation Coffee supports farmers living adjacent to the endangered gorillas of Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and provides them with training in sustainable coffee farming and processing.

The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda is one of the most biologically diverse forests in Africa. Bwindi is home to more than a third of the world’s mountain gorillas and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage sitein 1994.
