International Women’s Day

Today, on International Women’s Day, we are shining a spotlight on all the amazing women we work with. In achieving our mission of biodiversity conservation by enabling people, gorillas and livestock to coexist through improving their health and livelihoods in and around Africa’s protected areas, we engage women in Village Health Conservation Teams (VHCTs)- ((who, in Uganda, are typically the primary caregivers in the family), to improve household health through better hygiene, sanitation, family planning and conservation practices to maintain a healthier environment. We appreciate all the women that we work with today – which also marks start of our Little By Little Campaign on Global Giving. For every donation up to 50USD made to our Global Giving project this week, an additional 50% donation will be made by Global Giving.
