Conservation Through Public Health (CTPH) is a Uganda-based, award-winning leader in gorilla and wildlife conservation, championing the health of wildlife, ecosystems, humans, and their livestock in and around Africa’s protected areas including, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Founded in 2003, CTPH is led by Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka, a National Geographic Explorer since 2018 and UNEP Champions of the Earth 2021 Winner in science and innovation, who is dedicated to promoting biodiversity conservation by enabling people, gorillas, and other wildlife to coexist through improved health and community alternative livelihoods.

Gorilla Conservation Camp is our eco-friendly guesthouse and social enterprise of Conservation Through Public Health (CTPH) located in the Buhoma sector at Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to save gorillas, one trip at a time.
Well-suited for a volunteer, intern or researcher, gorilla trekkers, birders and team-building retreats, the camp has a Gorilla Conservation Café serving our award-winning, single origin, 100% Arabica Kanyonyi Coffee brand with panoramic views overlooking the Bwindi rainforest landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Adjacent to the Gorilla Conservation Camp is CTPH’s Gorilla Health and Community Conservation Centre where we share our Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) educational approach and lifetime experience for inspiring the young-and not so young-people everywhere.

CTPH is seeking a full-time representative and Individual Giving Manager based in the United States to expand its regional giving and engagement to support its mission and activities. CTPH has three integrated strategic programs: Wildlife Conservation, Community Health, and Alternative Livelihoods, that work in concert to conserve wildlife and improve the lives of the communities that live around the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
