Today is World Gorilla Day!

Every year on 24th September, we take a moment to reflect on the plight of Gorillas – some of our closest relatives in the natural world – and how we can better protect them.

Conservation Through Public Health (CTPH) strives to conserve the World’s remaining endangered Mountain Gorillas, almost half of which live in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Whilst the Mountain Gorilla population is growing, thanks to the enormous efforts of all Gorilla partners, friends and stakeholders – there are still only an estimated 1063 Mountain Gorillas left in the wild. Their future remains in peril. We need your help to ensure their survival – and when better to show your support than today, on World Gorilla Day?

Our #TeamGorilla running the 21km marathon at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park on 17th September 2022 during the Tusk Wildlife Ranger Challenge.

The Wildlife Ranger marathon challenge may be over, but you still have 6 days to donate and help us reach the 10,000 USD target by 30th September isn’t! Conservation Through Public Health partnered with Uganda Wildlife Authority to help raise funds for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park rangers during the Tusk Wildlife Ranger Challenge.

Funds raised from this year’s challenge will help to buy rain gear, backpacks and power banks for the rangers.

The #TeamGorilla rangers did amazingly well to run 21km whilst carrying their 22kg backpacks, in the hilly and challenging Bwindi terrain. Let’s show our support by donating to #TeamGorilla!

Thank you very much for your support. Wishing you a great weekend and Happy World Gorilla Day!
